This is the start of an inspiration patch, where I hope that fellow scrappers and creators will come and find some inspiration, or even leave some inspiration for me.

Believe Tag

Hello Everyone

I had a heap of scrappy things to do today and it was mostly administrative type stuff, so I am really pleased that I got it done and dusted!

I did however, finish off another tag using Prima bits and bobs.  I shared a tag yesterday and I am sharing it again today, because admittedly, I don't think the late afternoon lighting did it justice yesterday.  So here it is, along with my newly finished one.

I am really happy with these tags and I am pleased to have used up some bits.

Here's a closer look at the new one.

I even used some Prima packaging for the tag itself.

Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Hope Tag

Hello Everyone

Apologies for having been missing for a week! I actually cannot believe that more than a week passed, since my last post! Yikes! Where has the time gone?

Life has just been hectic at work and also at home and I needed to concentrate on them and also spend quite a bit of time behind the PC for admin reasons. I was also creating behind the scenes and so very soon will have lots to share with you! ;-)

But today I just quickly used up some of my Prima bits and created this tag.

I really am on a mission again, to use up bits and bobs! ;-)

I used Forever Green and bits and bobs from various other collections. I really can't waste and just throw away these off cuts, so what better than to create cards and tags! They are perfect for bits and bobs! ;-)

Anyways...hope you have a good evening!
Be back soon!

Gold Reef City Layout

Hello Everyone

On the first weekend, this past December, my Father treated us all to a day at Gold Reef City.
This is an old mining town that has been turned into a historic site, along with theme parks for the kids and lots of entertainment.

The Carnival Collection was the perfect collection for this page.

It's a fun little page to remember this fun day.

To tell you a little bit more about the story, the kids were soooo excited about going on the rides and couldn't wait to get started.  It soon became apparent to us and Joe though, that he might not be able to go on some of the rides.  He had to be at least 1.3m tall to be allowed on the bigger rides and he was 1.25m.  We tried everything and to no avail...so here is a very sad little face.

So Joe and I made our way to the kiddies area, where they had kiddies rides and he certainly went from rather sad to very happy and of course...his Mother went with him on all his rides! ;-)
But the very last ride was with his Dad and the photo is the one I scrapped above.

I was so pleased, at the end of the day, have a very happy little chap.

I used the stars stencil from the stickable stencils and had some fun around the edges of my paper.
I also added the balloons, which are always such a fun element.

I used some twine to be the balloon strings.

We were pooped at the end of the day but we all had an amazing and fun day together! ;-)

Thanks for coming past to say hello!
I hope you have a super day!

Life is Beautiful - Prima BAP May 2015

Hello Everyone

I finished a canvas that I created for the Prima BAP this month.  I really love what I created and I put a lot of love, time and creativity into it. Here's the sketch firstly.

2015 May BAP Jennifer

Here's my take on it.

I know that it has a lot of elements, but is hopefully not too busy! I used the Forever Green Collection.

I did stencilling and watercolouring on the background and then lots of stamping.

I did lots of fussy cutting of the leaves, butterflies and bits....it was very therapeutic! ;-)

I used some Scrap FX chipboard and heat embossed it with embossing powder.

This canvas is about all the things I love...flowers, butterflies and lots of pretties. It's also a canvas to remind me about the important things in life - Remembering Life is Beautiful and appreciating it, Stopping to Smell the Roses and to keep exploring...in all areas of my life...not to be afraid to venture into the unknown.

Thanks so much for popping in!
I really appreciate the visit!
Have a super evening!

New Baby Card

Hello Everyone

I hope that you are having a good weekend! I had a class this morning and I can tell you that I am pooped! LOL...but it really was very good fun! ;-)

A friend asked me to make a card for another friend that is having a baby and so I got out my BoBunny Baby Bump collection and put one together this afternoon.

It's a little girl that is one the way, so was happy to add some pink.

This is still such a pretty collection!

Anyways...I hope you have found some scrappy time!
Have a super Saturday!

The Magic of You - Scrap Africa Pinterest Retro Challenge no.51

Hello Everyone

We have one of my favourite mood boards up on the Scrap Africa blog here for the Pinterest Retro Challenge.  Check out this amazing board.

It's way cool and I had so much fun creating my project.  So here's my take.

If you follow my blog, then you will know I have made some projects, of this lovely lady! This photo is really amazing and I knew it was perfect for this theme.

I used bits and pieces from some of my favourite October Afternoon collections, 5&Dime, Report Card and Thrift Shop.

The title chipboard is Celebr8 and the big circle round is Blue Fern Studios.

To keep the retro theme, I really kept to certain colours and elements and I am so happy with how this canvas turned out.  I know already that it is one of my favourites.

So if you love the 50s and 60s like I do...why not play along with this challenge!

And lastly....a little quote from the lady herself.

Have a super Friday!

Hello Everyone

Firstly, thanks so much for all of you that left such lovely and encouraging comments on my previous post! I really appreciate them so much! xx

Now to today's business...LOL, which is a wedding card that a friend asked me to make for him.  His friends son is getting married on Saturday.

I used the gorgeous Garden Journal collection from BoBunny.

My friend had also given me their names from the invite, so I thought I should use them on the card too.

I just love the chipboard pieces from this collection, they really are so fabulous!
I could not resist using them! ;-)

It's a lush and decadent card...everything that weddings are about!! ;-)
Anyways...hopefully he's happy with it.

Been to any weddings lately? I love a good wedding! LOL

Faith Canvas

Hello Everyone

I created a canvas for a BoBunny project that I had to make and it's one that I have up on my wall and look at everyday! I take courage from it and it's a reminder everyday to have Faith! ;-)

In a way...I have to come clean and tell you a little bit more about this canvas.  If you follow my blog posts you will know that in February, March and April, I posted that these were really difficult months for me.  At the time, especially February, I could not verbalise half of what I was feeling or thinking and so thought it best to keep quiet.

In February, 2 things happened.  Firstly, I was hijacked outside my sisters house.  In essence, what this means is that I was held up by a man with a gun, who wanted my car. I was not a very willing victim and so I was also shot at.  Whether this was just to scare me or whether he actually meant to harm me, this I don't know. The point blank range shot, narrowly missed the left hand side of my body.  However, I was then thrown into the road and he made off with my car, my handbag, my cellphone, ID, drivers licence etc. As you can imagine, this incident made one of the biggest impacts on my life. It has been a process to come to terms with it and also put it behind me, as such. It has not always been easy.

The second thing in February, was that 2 weeks after this hijacking, my dog Blossom passed away.  I nursed her for the 2 weeks.  In the last week, feeding her water and food by hand. It was absolutely awful and my heart was broken.

In the first week of April, the Thursday before Good Friday my husband phoned to tell me that he had been in a motorbike accident.  To tell you the short version...he basically was in a HUGE accident, where the bike was totally wrecked and he was in intensive care for 2 days, before coming home with minor injuries.  It was a miracle that he actually had so few injuries, a broken bone in his foot, bad bruising and an open knee. Luckily he is now healed, except for the broken bone, which will definitely take time to completely mend and heal.

As you can tell from these 3 things, the start to my year was not so great. But I have learnt quite a few things about myself.  I might share this with you sometime...but I would need a loooooong post! ;-)
However,  no matter how strong I am, sometimes I still get scared and so this was the reason for me creating this canvas.  I saw this amazing quote on Pinterest and just knew that it was something I had to use.

I used BoBunny stickable stencils for the background, along with watercolouring.  I made it very drippy down the sides, to give it that drippy look. I did some woodgrain stamping and I then used butterfly diecuts over some of these butterfly images on the background.

I used the butterflies, because they give me thoughts of flight and having wings to transcend these worldly things! ;-)

I'm not really one for blabbing all over the place, about my woes and mishaps...but I guess sometimes one has to allow people in and be a little vulnerable.

I hope that this post wasn't too long...
I really do thank you all, for your visits always...
It really is appreciated!

Altered Book Canvas - Berry71BLeu

Hello Everyone

I am up on the Berry71Bleu blog here to share my take on this months Mood Board.  Kay created a gorgeous board.

So I decided to make a gift for my Mother for Mothers Day.
I had this idea rollling around in my head for ages and so decided to go ahead and create it.
I used an old book, which I first stuck down onto the canvas and then altered the book with gesso, paints, stamps, papers and blooms.

I used the gorgeous Graphic 45 Place in Time papers.
The resin heart is Prima, which I coloured with distress paint.
The chipboard rounds and little Scarab beetle is Umwow.
The chipboard leaves are Celebr8 and the blooms Petaloo.

Here's a side view of the book.

The gesso acts like glue and so running the brush along the pages, made most of them stick.
I also used quite a bit down the middle of the book, which when dried, kept the book open.

I arranged the flowers cascading down the middle of the book and then onto the pages.

This project really came together so easily and was so enjoyable to create.
I really hope my Mother likes it and can put it somewhere nice.

I also created a little card, which I will put between the pages.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super evening!

Magic - CSI Case File 162

Hello Everyone

It has been ages since I have had the chance to play along with CSI and I was so pleased to eventually find some time for this challenge.

So here's my take.

Evidence: Stars and Circles
Testimony: Using unexpected and surprise

This layout is about the family relationships at out home...which surely includes the pets! ;-)
My journalling is a layer under the photo and says this:
When Pepsi came to us, we never even imagined that a birdie could become such a part of the family. We also never imagined that Blossom and Rosie would be friends with birdie. Yet, they soon allowed her to roam freely and be a part of their doggy world. Since Blossom, is sadly gone, Rosie and Pepsi are good friends and often play together. It is such an unexpected and surprise friendship...such a Magic Friendship!

This photo is so fun, with these two looking at each other, eye to eye and Joe also part of the mix.  These 3 are actually such goof friends.  Joe and Pepsi sometimes have a love/hate relationship...LOL..but I think it's because they tease one another....

I used the "Say Cheese" collection from Simple Stories and it's a really fun collection and was also perfect for this case.

Thanks so much for stopping by!
I hope you have a super day!
